Why do guys hate high waisted shorts and crop tops?

I don't like the way high waisted shorts make women's proportions look. Its like they have this long hip and then no torso. It seems odd to me, but that's likely because I grew up thinking low waist looked good. I really like that curve between waist and hip, and somehow to me high waist shorts ruin it. They create sort of a ( ) shape from the waist to below the hips, that's really long. I prefer lower waists, which leave a ) ( shape through the waist that then transitions into nice hips/ass. Plus I think the high waisted makes the ass look sort of ... long ... which is similar to droppy. I like the ass/hips to look more horizontal if that makes sense. Stretching them visually higher makes them look worse, not better, to my eye.

i so agree, high waisted shorts just don't flatter the figure at all! especially if she has an evident hip to waist ratio that should be flaunted!

High waisted shorts look good on only a few girls, like very few but I have seen those few pull it off well. In most cases though it looks like someone has pulled their shorts up and given them a massive wedgie, that just looks awful and trashy. Just wear normal jean short shorts because it just looks so much better and not trashy.

Also crop tops again just look trashy worn as street wear unless another top is worn over top of it. Crop tops should really only worn to the gym where they don't look out of place.

Honestly some high wasted shorts remind me of how diapers look on a baby. That's just my honest opinion. I've seen girls walking around and can't help but just think it. It also doesn't always look nearly as flattering as some girls think it does. Very few girls actually look good in it. I can't comment on the crop tops though. I think crop tops can either look really good or really bad. Depends on your body and what you wear it with.

If your legs and your butt are your assets, then there's no reason why it shouldn't look great.

High-waisted shorts just don't look good because wearing something so high over your belly is just unattractive. But crop tops are attractive. Not everyday clothing, but definitely great for some events. And nobody said that we "hated" it.

I don't like high waisted shorts because I personally think it's kinda slutty to show that much leg, unless your wearing leggings. As for crop tops, they look very slutty to me and send the wrong signal. but wear what you want

Sometimes high waisted shorts can look good, it depends on the shorts and girl. I am not a fan of crop tops at all, it looks like the girl is wearing a shirt that is too small or a shirt she cut just to needlessly show skin.
