Does she want to just study, is she trying to keep me around for help or is she interested?

Okay so this girl from my college class and I are both majoring in the same thing and we've known eachother for about a year and a half. Lately she wanted to study for a midterm we had so she asked if I had time to study after class next class. I told her I'd have to see. Later on I texted her saying I could study with her for 1-2 hours after class if she still wanted to. She texted back "Sweet ;)".

The next class she said she hadn't slept too much the night before so she was a bit tired but still able to study. When walking between buildings after class she commented that it was cold outside (despite the fact that she wore shorts and a thin see through tank top. After a year an a half of classes together this was the first time I've ever seen her wear any see through clothing). We ended up studying for a while before she offered to buy me a snack when she went up to get anything. I politely denied the snack then finished studying with her when she got back. We did sort of joke around a bit when studying which was a bit new. From the way she talked about herself and grades it seems like she's having an easier time getting through university than I am. So I was just wondering if it sounds like she's interested in me, possibly flirting to keep me around for help, or if she just wants to study and maybe gets bored a bit easily.

I think to know this you look at their skill level. If she clearly does not need your help and doesn't benefit from it either then she is studying with you because she likes you. If she asks you to do a lot of things for you and seems like she isn't afraid to show that she isn't good in the class then she is studying because it benefits her or because its less boring to study in a group then it is to study by yourself. I've pulled the "let's study" trick on really hot guys that I wanted to date in the past. I don't believe the guy realized it but I think his female friend might have caught on to what I was doing.

I think she wants to study with me for a bit of both. I mean the stuff we were doing you cold find in a YouTube tutorial and even if you can't going off the solutions manual should make things easy to understand.

When she said she was cold wee you by any chance wearing a sweatshirt? Maybe she c wanted you to offer it to her v or hug her to keep her warm. The winky face in the text is definitely implying something. It doesn't sound like she needed your help studying. If you too already know each other pretty well she might be trying to show she likes you. If you haven't really talked before this but just had classes together she might just think you're cute and be trying to get to know you better. There's definitely something there though.

I was wearing a sweater but I didn't think much of it at the time. The wink face is what got me and then the delaying the studying. She said she was a bit tired and was up all night but I thought nothing of it.

We do talk in person. When we're in the same class or run into eachother. She doesn't respond to texts most of the time.

I think she could be interested in you. If a girl doesn't really "need" studying with someone that's not significantly better, then she wouldn't be telling you to study with her. She'd study on her own or with closer classmates. Also, that see-through clothing adds to the flirting. Both, drawing your attention to her body and (I think) expecting you to come back at her with a witty answer like "have my jacket/ i could hug you" (dunno for sure, but it doesn't sound crazy).

Would you be interested in her? Do you like her?

Yeah I'm interested in her. I almost asked her out once but didn't due to being asked out by a somewhat close female friend. I thought about asking her out again but w're some of the few people in our program (only 20 people majoring in this subject and we're 2). Plus we sort of help each other out I help her more than she helps me but in general I help everybody (because it helps me learn a bit more).

Try and ask her out again. If you have a nice interaction and chemistry is good, sense of humor does click, then I pretty much think you have a successful formula. Maybe try to make it casual, like.. hey, have you gone to X? I always pass it by but I've never really gone there. What do you say if we go one of these days and find out, maybe after studying?

Yeah , the sweater thing totally flew over my head. She said it was cold but it didn't sound like much at the time and I also thought that since it was a 5 minute walk she might be ok.

The fact that, as you say, she's probably doing better in school than you are seems to rule out any "need" she would have for your academic help. So yeah, I'd think there's a good chance she might be interested in kindling something with you.
