What does it mean when a guy introduces himself to you?

What does it mean when a guy you do not know introduces himself to you (but does not give you his phone number?) and he wants to know a little about you-like your name, interests, etc? He shakes your hand at the beginning of the conversion and at the end of the conversation?

He wants to know a little about you. There are all sorts of possible purposes for this.

If he's about your age and single, then there's a good chance he's checking you out. If so, you may have passed and he will hit on you in future, or you may have failed, and he won't.

But even if he is single and broadly open to a relationship with someone like you, he may simply be looking to develop a business contact, have some fun conversation, relieve boredom, or lots of other things.

If you like him, look his name up on social media. Get in touch. Just because he hasn't hit on you yet doesn't mean a sign of interest from you won't change his mind.
