Help! I accidentally gave someone the wrong number. What should I do?

So I met this guy at a party over the weekend but as I was drunk I accidentally gave him a wrong number! He added me on Facebook the next day and I accepted him but he hasn't send me a message through chat.
Meanwhile one of my friends (the one that introduce me to him) said she talked to that guy's friend and his friend said that he has been texting me.
I am not 100% sure that he has been texting me and I don't know how to approach this. I am not comfortable with sending him a message on Facebook because he might not have been texting me at all. Also, I liked his profile picture today but I didn't get any signs from him.
According to his friends, he is interested but because I haven't talked to him directly I don't want to jump to conclusions...
Bottom line, I don't know if he is interested but why would he add me on Facebook if he wasn't?
Any tips on how to get his attention?

Message him on Facebook. Trust, he will NOT care and it WILL NOT make you look bad. Just say, "Hey I realized I gave you the wrong number, here is the actual one 555-555-5555" End message or add something cute at the end if you want.

This message will do multiple things:
1. It tells him you really did want him to call you.
2. It tells him you are interested enough to realize what you did and actually correct it.
3. You will know for sure if he's been trying to call/text.

This sort of thing REALLY does not make you look bad. It's like a whatever thing. If he isn't interested (MOST unlikely) then whatever, you don't look bad for correcting yourself. Besides, if he asked for your number then you ALREADY KNOW that he's interested. I don't know why you're second guessing that now.

Do this, call the number you accidentally gave out, and apologize for the inconvenience. You'll get an ear full if he's been texting, if they don't know what your talking about then it's nothing. If he has been texting a quick FB message saying, "hay I accidentally gave you the wrong number, try --- --- ----" with a smiley face should get the point across.

Stop overthinking lol. Just drop him a line, explain the situation. "Hey, I gave you the wrong number by accident. I suck at math, yaknow."

Just shoot him a message with the correct number and hope like heck some guy isn't scratching his head wondering what the weird text are about
