What does it mean when a man calls you "my lovely girl"?

I am 18 and there's a much older man in his late 40s that calls me "my lovely girl" or "my lovely ( insert my name)" and he always calls me lovely. It's kind of like he claims me as his although we haven't kissed and we're not in a romantic relationship, mainly because we're at church.

He touches me in an intimate manner, I know he has romantic interest in me. But what does "lovely" mean as opposed to him calling me pretty or beautiful?
