Should I give my ex boyfriend his stuff back?

We've been broken up for about two months and I have a couple of his shirts, a bracelet that he's given to me that he said was special to him, some homemade cards and birthday cards.

After we broke up, he started dating another girl a couple of weeks later. As if I wasn't torn apart enough as it was, this just completely shattered me. I love him, but seeing his stuff in my room makes me hurt even more.

He hasn't tried calling me or contacting me in any way. I can't tell if he's completely moved on from me or anything.

Should I give him back the stuff he's given me with a note on his door step? I'm absolutely terrified to call him because I'm scared of how he'll react when he answers because he might have deleted my number.

If you have any intention of getting back with him its probably not a good idea to throw away anything he gave you. But if you don't want to get back with him then it's perfectly acceptable to give it back or throw it way. As far as the note on the doorstep, I must say it is a good idea but if you are afraid to call him the note might lead to a call back from him because he might want an explanation to why all of his gifts to you are now on his doorstep.

I agree with everything you've said. The note is intended for a call back if I decide to do it. As for giving his stuff back, it's just causing me pain to see his shirts hanging in my closet or just knowing that they're even in there.

You just have to decide if you want to make contact with him through the call back. If that is okay then your plan works fine and you should go right ahead. If you do not feel comfortable speaking to him though, you should probably just throw them away or donate them or even sell them.

well you said it yurself, you love him...so giving his things back to him wouldn't necessarily be the greatest thing to do...it might make things bad for his relationship that he's in now, or make him feel bad himself. when my ex did that to me, it only made things harder for me. either throw them away or stuff them away for a long time.

I do love him, yes. But him being with another girl in such a short time after me throws everything off, makes me hurt even more and just turns good memories into painful ones. But I don't see how it would make things bad or hard in his relationship now?

Well as quick as he got with another girl shows that its a rebound from u. its his attempt to get over u. so you suddenly coming back into the picture just to return unwanted memories could make things very bad for him.

get a friend to hold on to it for you until you are ready to be reminded of him. you don't want to regret giving him back his stuff and having no memories of being with each other. so ask a friend to hold the stuff for you and when our ready you can get it back and look back and remember the good times you had instead of the hurt your feeling now.

I say burn the stuff. Completely kick him out of your life. Don't look back. If you're afraid of him being a jerk or whatever, you don't have to deal with it. you're better off getting rid of the stuff some how.

I think you want more than just a simple run in to return his things. How about just leaving them at his house or somewhere you don't have to meet him? I think it's imperative you do not see him since you are obviously still in love with him. He doesn't deserve your efforts, really. But he still deserves at least his stuff back.

You're right. I do want more than a simple run in. And I know seeing him would absolutley kill me. That's why I thought it was safe to just leave his stuff on his doorstep without him seeing me...unless he's hanging out with his friends on his front porch...now there's a new complication I might run into. :/

The items will only make it harder to get over him either throw them out, give them away or store them so you don't look at them.

They are stored away, I swear. I just know they're there...that's all. Throwing them out seems a little rough. I'd feel better if they were back in his possession anyways.
