Is 140lbs fat?

okay, so I'm 140 pounds, and I never thought of myself as fat till this year when I overheard a guy saying he would like me if I wasn't so fat, and it really hurt my self confidence. I'm a size six! sense when was that fat?! but I can't even look at myself the same anymore, I don't want to sounds bitchy but I used to think I was really pretty, and I don't want one guy to change my whole self image, maybe I'm just too vain or whatever but it really hurt, so I guess I was wondering if I should hit the gym?

That's not fat, people have different preferences and love to throw around the word fat where it doesn't belong a lot. 140lbs is the top of the healthy weight range for my height and i'm 5'3" so if you're 5'6" then you're definitely not fat.

He sounds like a jerk and one of those people who thinks because someone doesn't fit their personal preference that it makes them too fat or too skinny.

Just work out a little and take care of yourself, don't waste your time worrying about people like him, they're everywhere.

6 became fat when 4 became the new 6 and 2 became the new 4 (love the devil wears prada!). But 6, to most people, isn't always fat. It depends on how tall you are. Obviously 140 lbs. will look differently on someone who's 5'0 compared to someone who's 5'6. But size 6 is a perfectly healthy size. I'm a size 2 and I wish I were a 6 sometimes so I could have some curves and not have the body of a 10 year old boy.

You know your body better than he does. If you're not healthy, go to the gym, but don't go just because of what he said. The average American woman is 140 pounds, and this guy sounds like a douche.

obviously it depends on how tall you are...if ur 5' then ya its heavy, if ur 6'2" its completely fine. and really its a matter of opinion of the guy. but really everyone should hit the gym

It really depends on your height. 140 isn't very heavy, but if your short you may seem wider than someone with the same weight that's taller than you.

Don't let that guy ruin how you view yourself, size 6 is a perfectly healthy and curvy size. (:

Hit the gym if you want, but don't do it unless you're doing it for yourself, and not for some crazy guy who thinks you're overweight.

I'm seeing you're 5'6, that's a bit heavy...but looking fat depends on on how that weight distributes on your body...calculate your BMI, you'll get a better idea of how healthy your weight is, hence that's the most important thing
