Do you throw your arms around his neck? Criss-cross arms? Both arms beneath his? How long does the hug last? Is it a tight hug? Details!

There are a few different hugs I use depending on my relationship with who I'm hugging. These are three of the most common hugs I use with guys.

1. If my arms are thrown around his neck, it's usually (but not always) tight and doesn't last long at all. This is meant for friends or someone I'm excited to see because it is very quick so we can get to the talking.

2. If my arms are unders his and around his waist, it's usually very tight and lasts longer. This is used for my best guy friends, guys I like to hug, and guys I like/early boyfriends because it's cuddly and I just don't wanna let go, especially if they're warm and smell really good. This is my favorite hug!

3. If my arms are placed around his neck, it's usually (but not always) starts looser but pulls closer and lasts longer. This is reserved for boyfriends because it becomes more personal. It's what I kinda refer to as the "come here and kiss me" hug because I pull to guy close and it lasts long enough for some kissing before we break apart.

The main difference between hugs 1 and 3 is how my arms are. With hug 1, it's a lot more casual and my arms are usually resting on his shoulders. With hug 3, it's a lot more like a romantic gesture and my hands are joined just behind his neck.

when I hug my Boyfriend when I'm really excited to see him I throw my arms around his neck and he wraps his tightly around my back.. as we loosen up we usually kiss then part.this kind of a hug is usually more affectionate.

if its a more casual hug I wouldn't put my arms around him too tight. a little more casual and the guys hands are normally on my waits. this is usually more flirty.

another kind which I feel is more like cuddling is when I throw my arms around his body and his arms around my shoulders .. a mans bigger arms around a womans shoulder can feel like she's being swallowed by a bear.. in a good cuddly pleasant way ofcourse.. and this is more warm and romantic although this could also be a friendly hug as your not too close to his face.. hence I do this with friends..

if I really liked a guy it would be the second one.. because the first one is for someone I love mostly .. and the third one as well.. depending on how its done actually ..

so id say your best bet is the second one .. or the third one if its less tight and the guys palms aren't open flat and mine are also not open flat on his body.. more like a fisted hug..

it depends on different girls.

if she is a shy girl, she would not even dare come close to you. She would probably edge away, instead of going into a hug.

For me, I would usually aim for the neck since it would allow the guy to hold my waist so i

would feel protected and loved. For me, if it is a guy I like, I would usually not hold it for more

than five seconds unlike guy friends who I would usually hold for about 20-30 seconds.

That is the reason because I am not as confident as most girls but I am not overly shy. Like I said, it depends on who the girl is and how comfortable she is around you and how she thinks you will react to her hugs. :)

Make sure you have your head turned towards him and not away, wait for him to go under or over your arms, tight if he goes around your shoulders, loose with crossed arms if he goes under yours, and when the hug finishes, tug on his shirt a little at the front and tease him, only lightly though, tell him his hairs messy or something with a giggle :)

if its a flirty hug, hands around the neck until he lets go lol and not too tight because it cud probably hurt his neck.

but if its a hug to someone I like then its both arms beneath his, because then I feel embraced, pretty tight, and again until he lets go lol.

since I'm shorter than pretty much every guy my age, I usually have both of my arms beneath his. that way, I can hug him tighter without having the hug be awkward if I were to hug his neck. (i'd have to go on my tippytoes.) but if the guy picks me up from the waist, then I hug him around the neck.

I throw my arms around his neck because is more comfortable for me casue I'm so short. plus its fun if he's really tall and can pick me up during the hug. in that case I would hug pretty tight because I don'r want to fall (not that he'd let me casue he's also hugging me)

I'd usually put my arms around his neck, it puts me at a better angle for a kiss, if I get the chance.

If my arms are under his it seems more like a cuddle to me, I'd usually do that with a guy I see as jsut a friend. But every girl is different, that's just me.

If I really like the guy I useally hug him around the waist if its gonna be quick.

If I like him and its gonna be longer and tighter, or a " I MISSED YOU! " hug it gonna be around the neck.

If its a one arm hug it because I don't know you too well

Arms around his neck sqeezing tight, head resting gently on his chest or shoulder depending on his height and for as long as I can make it last without being akward. My favorite hugs are the same as before plus he's holding me with his arm under my butt and my legs are wraped around his waist. It would have to be a guy I'm close to.

I love hugging and cuddling with my man. We have been together almost 5 years. He likes to hug with his arms on top and mine around his waste. I am 5'7" & he is the same so it feels so good, a full embrace. My ex was 6'4" and of course he hugged above my arms too but never felt complete. Almost felt askward. As for friends, usually crossed arms or theirs under with a lift sometimes if it's been a long time since seen.

To me, under the arms is more of a cuddle hug, which can last for a long time. Around the neck seems to be more of a romantic type thing, and only lasts for a few minutes.
