How do you continue a “hows your day going” conversation?

Let’s say you text a girl “how’s your day going” and she replies “good, and you?” and I reply “I’m doing great thanks” and she says “that’s good” how do you reply to that? She started the conversation which made me bring up her day which killed the convo. Basically.

Don't resort to mundane boring conversation, she might do it - but you don't need to. Instead of saying 'I'm doing great thanks' you could explain what you did that day or what happened that's contributed to how you're feeling, make a joke about it etc.

Then she has to give a bit information about her. Maybe she will text "Nothing really" than can you say what you did the day and ask her more questions
