How to wish crush Happy Birthday on Facebook?

So it's my crush's b-day and I only have contact with him on Facebook (i don't even see him in real life since I moved). I wanna say happy b-day to him but not sure if I should do it on his wall or in a private message? We used to message but he quit responding to me a few months ago...

You HAVE to choose one or the other... doing both would just be overbearing.
I say private message him. Wall posts are there for everyone to see and they do not allow a real conversation to take place. When 2 people fall out of touch, they often both sit wishing the other would just message them. Message him and make it personal and make it clear that you want to stay in touch with him. The more obvious you make it that you're into a guy, the better off it will be.

I would give up on a person who randomly decided to stop messaging me (which happens to me all the time) and for a matter of months I don't hear from again. I'm not sure if he had his reasons but I don't think you could properly justify having no contact with a person you once cared about for such a long time. I doubt he stopped replying to his other friends for such a period.

If he's quit responding to your messages, I don't see a point in wishing him happy birthday. Did he wish you happy Thanksgiving, merry Christmas, or happy new year? If not, then I don't think he deserves a happy birthday wish.
