This guy that I have been seeing a lot of lately invited me out of town for the day to meet his friends, Were were walking down the street and I was thinking, "do guys have issues with holding hands or linking arms?

And is it okay for a girl to make the first step and possibly grab the hand or the arm?

They don't. When a guy holds a girl's hand he is offering her protection and support. When a girl does it, she is allowing the man to take her under his guard. It is a simple meaning to this habbit.

Having said that, a guy is perfectly okay with holding hands with a guy no matter how she looks like (except if he is commited to someone else then its a big no no). He also feels proud and gets a boost of confidence when he can show other people that he has the girl under his control. It increases his masculine pride.

When a girl holds a guy's hand she may be offering him help too, but relationship wise it can hint the guy very casually that the girl consider's him to be a love partner. It is like the very first of hints to tell someone you like them. Guys are usually shy about holding hands with a girl first, since they fear rejection, but they always welcome one when initiated by the girl. Holding hands is also a sign of trust, something you can take into consideration when it happens. Trust to protect your partner from falling down, trust to keep your partner from getting lost and so forth.

Most guys probably wouldn't find that PDA to be too much. Go for it. He'll be flattered you want to show everyone that he's yours. He obviously likes you if you've been dating a lot and you met his friends!
