Why would a girl say she loves me and likes me a lot when we are just friends?

This girl says she loves me and likes me randomly a lot. I feel that if a girl says they like/love a guy on rare occasions its more possible that it means nothing, but this girl randomly says it almost every time we are together.

She usually seems to say she loves me when she sees me doing something that she finds impressive (e. g. she says something like, "oh my gosh, I love you!") and says she likes me when having a normal discussion (e. g. she says something similar to "I like you, your awesome") and its usually when there are other friends around. From what i've noticed she also never says it to other guys, only me.

So, if a girl says she loves/likes me a lot, randomly, does it mean anything?

The "I love you" is a slip off of her more obvious "I like you", which she says because.. she likes you. How much? Time to find out. She wants to pass off "I love you" as a very flick-of-the-wrist "aaah man you got the thing for me i love you dude!" while it's extremely revealing and they probably accidentally do it more than they like.

If you haven't ever said anything romantic to her, try and wait for her to say I like you again (before she exhausts it and stops saying it) and just, fuck it, say "Yeah I like you too" or something, perhaps something that she says back at her just to play with their brain and see an overall positive reaction no matter the outcome. Just let it seep in, let your neutral expression magically translate the feeling. Work something from your position such as that and nothing more and you might drive her up a wall (in a good way).

I think a girl wouldn't be saying these things if she's into you romantically - she would probably keep her feelings a secret.

I think she's just playfully saying this to you because she likes you as a really good friend.

From what I've noticed she's only said this to me, so that would mean that I'm her only really good friend. That doesn't seem right to me at all.

There is another guy she is really close to and she hasn't said she likes/loves him at all. Instead they joke around that they are married/getting married, yet they are not even dating and any type of intimate closeness that he tries to give her, she pulls away from. So, that doesn't seem right.

"They joke around that they are married/getting married, yet they are not even dating"... this, this means that she is just playing around. She actually does the same thing with you, but not with the same jokes.

OK then. It doesn't seem right to me, but I'm not going to think anything about it now.

I can tell she is joking about the way she is acting to the other guy. But with me... as everyone has heard her say this to me. It seems people are trying to get both of us together and she doesn't care about it and seems to want something to happen between us.

A while ago, she found out I liked another girl and she seemed upset and quiet. After things didn't go well with that girl (I told a few friends and the gossip must of spread), this girl has started saying this and acting a little more open towards me again. I've also noticed others raising eyebrows, talking/whispering and staring at me when she is around.

But if you think it's only her joking around. Then I don't mind, I'm fine with the close friendship I have with her anyway.
