Why did he reject me?

I have liked this guy for about a month now. We hung out like 3 times and he always shows different actions. Last night I saw him after I got out of work and we were just hanging out outside with him , me and another friend which is a guy. We were talking and stuff. There was a point where he grabbed my hand and was holding it and then telling me my hand is cold and kept trying to warm my hand up. And then he kept telling me he's looking for a good girl and he's lonely and this and that. He told me he wants a girl who doesn't smoke or drink or go out to clubs. He knows I don't do any of that. So my feelings for him kept growing stronger and stronger. When I got home I couldn't hold it inside. I texted him telling him I like him and he didn't know how to take it. And then I said sorry to him because I didn't wanna make it awkward , and he told me there's nothing for me to be sorry for. Earlier he was telling me a story about how he got rejected and how it hurts. So anyways I just told him to be honest with me , is he interested or not. And he told me he is not interested. So why does he act this way? :/ Why is he messing with my feelings. . . I just wish he could have gotten to know me better because I am a good girl with a good heart and I would never hurt anyone :( Seriously. I Haven't been able to sleep all night I just feel hurt :'(.

Not to be harsh, but it really sounds like he just wants the attention and was purposely flirting with you. he told you all those things while rubbing your hand and knew what you would think. The fact that he told you about being rejected just makes me that much more sure about this. He was rejected and now needs someone to make him feel better. The best way to get a guy is to play hard to get. Make them work for it. You should move on to a guy who's not going to string you along. But, if your still hanging out with this guy as friends, act like none of this stuff ever happened. Be cool about it though, don't let him know your trying to play it cool, just act normal. Let him know that his rejection didn't even phase u. It'll def make him take a second look. But if he comes at you like that again, be the one to ignore him this time. Don't even play his game. It'll drive hime crazy and before he knows it, he'll find it's hard to get you off his mind.

Well, no matter what he does, it sounds like he's been pretty clear that he's not into you in a romantic regard. Sounds like he's just being friendly, and you're reading into it a little bit too much. If you can't be around him without getting hurt, might be time to distance yourself a bit.

I just don't get this. It's so fucked up. Why would a guy reject a girl where she's cute and he's lonely? I think some guys just are afraid of anything and have no balls.
