Should I ask my crush to give me a ride home from a party?

Soo we have known each other for like 6 years or so but only started talking on snapchat this may, we also graduated together. Both 19 y/o. When he bought a car like a month ago he said that ”You can just let me know when you need a ride you know” and I said that I’ll keep that in mind.

So my question is, when going to a party, how long traveling time is appropriate for me to ask him for a ride home if he’s not at the party w me?
