It depends on how you approach. If you just walk up and say "hey I've been watching you from across the store." Or " hey, you're very sexy, let's go on a date" that's probably not gonna cut it lol. If you walk up and organically have something to say then that's a different story. That's something you can build on.

Where I come from, it's not uncommon for strangers to get into a conversation in grocery store aisles or in the checkout line. It wouldn't bother me at all. Go ahead and start a conversation in the grocery store, the worse that can happen is the person ignores you.
