Is pale skin ugly? Is a tan more attractive?

I have pale skin, not the nice kind of pale, but more yellow, almost sick looking pale. My family think I look sick (most of them are medium skinned or almost as light as me and tan easily).

I don't tan well. I look even more yellow, jaundiced if I try to.

Because of the media and others around me I feel that in order to be beautiful I need to tan. And that it is acceptable to bully someone for being pale, but not to bully someone for being tan.

As in tan, I mean REAL tan, either they were born with it or it's from the sun. Brown not orange.

Personally I am pale and guys say that I am pretty in my own way..You do not have to be tan to feel beautiful just be confident in yourself and that will help..Guys I think like it when a girls are confident in themselves..My look works for me so there is no reason it shouldn't work for you..I think being pale is a good thing, in the future you will not have skin cancer from tanning and look older than you are, girls that tan tend to do that but if you want to tan I recommend tanning in the sun .. hope this helps :)

All skin colors are b e a you t I f you l. Whether the skin is orange or black, etc. Different countries and parts of the world perceive a certain skin color more attractive than the other, along with culture. For example, Asian countries view pale skin as the epitome of beauty. Whereas in the United States, tan skin is favored. To each their own.

They are, but I always feel inferior as the people who bleach their skin don't want to be as light as me and the people with my skin colour want to be darker.

I prefer pale skin to tanned. And honestly, there are different shades of pale. Just because you're pale doesn't mean you're vampire pale (which I also love). There are different shades of 'tan' as well. If you're naturally, you will always look better with pale skin. trust me.

I love really pale skin. Don't tan. I don't really know what else to say to boost your confidence other than that I would most likely encroach upon the boundaries of lewdness with my mental eye if I beheld you before me.

i hate the look of tans, unless its a natural born tan, like a Mediterranean skin tone (spanish, italian, greek) but I love pale girls, again natural skin tone (irish, scottish, and scandinavian)

I'm super pale, it's cool :) it used to bother me when I was 15/16 and I tried fake tan but then I realized I just didn't care anymore. Too much effort. It's cute.

I prefer pale girls, actually. And given someone who looks orange from a tan, or ghostly white, the Oompa Loompa is definitely easier to make fun of.

Orange skin is the norm where I am. Pale skin is what most people naturally have, but no one really likes it.
