I think it sounds bad. You aren't talking about Star Wars here, you are clearly using it as a "decoration" to make the question look better because you know you probably shouldn't ask this question. I would find it cringe, personally, even though I would have no problems in disclosing my body count if asked directly. I would react with a "haha" and tell the body count but I would cringe internally regardless.
It's for sure good to get a relationship with someone who has a similar body count as yours but it's not so important as long as the difference is striking. And it comes across as judgmental because of the stigma about women having many partners, she might think you are asking that because you want to make sure she isn't a "w**re" although she wouldn't feel like so, but some people have this way of thinking and all women know that. So she might not want to reply and might feel annoyed by this question, but the fact you try to "decorate" this question with Star Wars probably shows you know that already.
Rather, why is it so important to you? Why does she need to know this is so important to you? Maybe this is what you should discuss with her. If you are religious and want a virgin woman or if you believe in a strong similarity in body count for some specific reason, then these are the topics that have to be discussed before starting a relationship.
You can also ask her about the range of the number of relationships she had, so that she doesn't have to be specific. But be ready to reply to a:"Why did you ask?".
