Context: I’m a manager in a restaurant and one of the chefs said this to me. Only thing is someone translated it because he does not speak good English. What are your thoughts?

It could be and it could not be. What I’m curious about is your feelings for him. If you’re not into him. Then leave it be. If you are…. Then talk to him tell him how you feel and ask him out

He is just complimenting your managerial skills and good personality. He appreciates you as a manager. It is usually a very good sign if the people you manage, like you. It means you are showing good leadership skills. Keep it up.

He may just appreciate you as a person. And in fact like you, but not necessarily romantically or anything.
I recently said the same thing to someone, but it was just appreciation for the person. No flirting, lol.

Its not enough to say he likes you romantically. I say that kinda stuff to guys i really appreciate and like being around but it does not necessarily mean i want to date them.

But if he had someone translate for him I would say he's into you.
