Am in university— if I want to meet a girl the “old fashioned way”, what would be an acceptable place to do so?

I’m a university sophomore (19 going on 20 in May, so no bars and I don’t plan to get a fake lmao) who’s just starting to grow more confident in themselves. I absolutely despise dating apps (due to some really bad experiences in the past) and so want to try to meet someone just out there. So really, there’s a question for both genders here:

Girls, where would you not mind being approached out of the blue? How would you want a guy to talk to you if he found you cute?

Guys, if you’ve met a girl this way, what worked for you? Any advice?

Living on a college campus, it is almost impossible to NOT meet attractive girls; all the time, everywhere. It’s like cute, friendly girls are being fired at you from a pitching machine (maybe a tennis ball machine? They come right to your racket). When one that looks good comes your way, just “return the serve,” and go with it.

Maybe this is not as obvious as it seems to me, but just interact with all of them. Don’t try to pick out one that is the only suitable target for your affection and then make her feel weird. Interact with all the girls, all the time, and just go with all of those relationships where they are going to go. Trust me, if you will just talk to the girls like they are regular people, smile at them, interact with naturally, show them genuine interest… For me as a college sophomore, the problem was managing my schedule so I didn’t have conflicts with all the dates I was able to schedule.

The girls are just being launched at your racket.

Anywhere, just say hi, ask her what her major is, then wish her a nice day... keep the conversations small, until she gets used to you not being a creeper. If she gives you the cold shoulder.. move on to the next good looking girl you see.. do not come of as needy. build a circle of friends, girls will be more comfortable with you if others are around in a group setting.
