In my eyes, it is not something that one should do because you don't even hide the fact that your ultimate goal is to get into her pants.

The definition of the word "random" is:

"made, done, happening, or chosen without method or conscious decision".

Therefore, to me that means that you chose that person without any specific motivation, just because she happened to cross your path. You decided to give her this compliment in the hope she would fall into your trap.

It is so obvious why you made this compliment. You probably did not even mean one single word but your testosterone made you do it.

If this would happen to me, you can rest assured that you would not get my number because I am aware why you give random compliments. I am sure you must have a plethora of compliments up your sleeve, just for cases like that.
