Do people approach you a lot in public places to ask for directions?

It seems like I'm really approachable to people in public or at college in general. People would ask me for directions to so and so and it bothers me why people find it okay to approach me to ask me for directions, but don't really approach me for casual conversations in classes? Guys don't really hit on me either except for maybe really old guys, but they will sometimes approach me to ask me for directions...

Do any of you have the same problem where you seem to attract people needing directions in public?

I always get random people approaching me and asking for directions or even wanting to do small talk with me. Even though the people don't really know me. People say very weird things to me. They tell me their life story etc. So you mena to tell me you sit in class and not 1 guy approaches you for casual conversations? I find that hard to believe. I thought guys be all over girls in college.

I'll usually get 4-5 guys a semester approaching me for all kinds of reason... But not a lot of guys usually...

Well that is not to bad. Some girls I know don't get any guys to approach the mfor different reasons including being shy. Are you shy or outgoing? It could be a lot of reasons why the college guys are not approaching you. It could be what your wearing maybe certain facial expressions. Maybe their is more girls then guys that go to your school, etc.

I am really shy and don't want to draw any attention to myself usually... And there are more females than males in my school

It wil ltake time for you to over come your shyness. Believe it or not. I'm a little shy to. And it gets very weird and awkward to just put your self out their. I don't think it's not about drawing attention to yourself. It's about just taking baby steps like even smiling or even saying hi to people. Then the rest will follow. Have confidence in yourself. Your school sounds cool a better female to male ratio. Wow. But on the bad side it sucks for the grils who want to talk to guys. ;(

Alot of times yes. I usually go outside in decent jeans, a shirt, with my hair done and freshly shaved. I guess it's easier to get aproached that way. I love helping people finding their way though.

When I see people staring at a map I ask if I can help out. Like they do in Canada!

It seems like people approach me more in general when I'm dressed down or look my worst...

yeah all that stuff and also I get people in stores who will ask me where they can find something and the first few times I thought...wow do they think I work here?...but I mean, I'm with my kids so obviously they don't think I'm working, so I guess I just look like I might know wtf I'm talking about I suppose lol

Once someone honked at me while I was walking. It was this old Asian man. I was taken aback right before he asked me for directions to a certain building. Ahah, joke's on me.

Yes, and I have no clue why. Do I look like I'm good with directions or something? Because I'm actually really horrible.

People always ask me for directions at college and some other places. But it probably has to do with my appearance, I look fashionable because I'm always dressed up properly, so maybe I seem like the guy who knows what's going on, or like a nice guy to talk to, even though I'm not. Anyways, I wouldn't call it a problem, it doesn't bother me at all. :)
