Playful banter is simply teasing someone in an affectionate way. It's seen very often between siblings, close friends, coworkers, relationships, etc. It's joking around with someone in a way that shows you're not serious and have no intention of hurting their feelings but it makes your guys laugh and enjoy each other's company. It builds a stronger bond with the other person.
When a woman compliment a man Why after a while she smile saying you like what I'm telling you? Is it playful banter?
I would say probably yes
She was ironic? she wanted to make fun of him? What are her intentions? Why she smiled when she told that?
She was just teasing and expected you to say or do something playful back. She smiled to show she was doing it in a playful manner. I don't think there's really any intention behind it other than trying to create a positive bond.
She flirted him? For example what could he say?
I don't know something like "yeah I love the way you talk to me" or "yeah tell me more"
