The end goal for flirting is to be natural, easy, and be exciting. When you talk to someone and sparks just fly. Sometimes, that's not super easy, and you get locked up. If you're struggling, there are two things I would say. Now, if you find at any point the conversation if flowing and fun, just go with what feels right.
But, I see a lot of guys look for two things from a girl in flirting, admiration and permission.
Guys can be egotists, there's a lot of pressure to be of a certain status and condition. Genuine, focused compliments on the reasons you like him can make a guy feel safe and excited. Be real though, handsome or "great guy" can sound polite. A specific shirt, being sweet, going to the gym, being skilled at something, or evwn that you just really click with him in a way you don't with other people. Sex fueled compliments are an obvious place to go, but also other ways can make it seem mpre genuine. The big one is laughing and responding for a lot of guys, makes them feel like you're engaged to what they're saying
The second one is permission for them to approach. A lot of guys see girls and naturally think about talking them romantically, but again, there's a lot of pressure. Men will lock up at the thought of rejection, so the little signs that it would be okay for him to make a move on you can often open up the door, as well as be flirting from you in and of itself. Keeping your posture open and facing him, being receptive to ideas, or inviting him to your ideas, and allowing input, saying you feel relaxed, and like what's happened so far, even being as blunt as saying "I'd date you if you asked haha" or whatever other things you'd be thinking of.
Again, those are really really broad. But apply well enough to most guys. But just stay relaxed, and confident. And let go of worry about it being awkward or anything like that. Be focused on having fun, and enjoying one another. That's the key to flirting, in my opinion
This will sound very obvious but sometimes the obvious things are true. Stand close to him, don't flinch if he touches you a little, often look at him, often smile, ask him questions and listen to his answers and refer to them later so he knows you paid attention, speak in a warm and friendly voice. JMO good luck!
just look in his eyes and smile at diner.
