Men why do you tease and make fun of the girl you like?

What makes it so difficult to tell her how you feel? Especially when the banter and flirting is mutual? Wouldn't it be more comforting knowing that rejection is unlikely or do you still adamantly believe it's possible? What breaks the barrier of this "safe" way of flirting?

Many guys are going to need a more overt sign of interest from the girl that she's interested in him before he will escalate beyond banter - especially given the "MeToo" stuff. Probably the best way to do this is to break the touch barrier.

If he makes a funny joke, touch/rub his arm or hand as you laugh. Ask him for a hug goodbye, or hello. Find excuses to be physically close to him - and make sure you aren't doing any of that with other guys.

That physical contact signals that you are comfortable around him and enjoy his touch. That's not something most girls do if they have reservations about a guy, much less if they want him to go away.

Same reason men who abuses their gfs/wives and women in general still seek out women or want something from the woman they are with or seeking, they truly do not like them, it’s an illusion to get what they want from women by pretending to be good and lying to themselves about it. In actuality, it’s all about them. That’s a spoiled man’s tactic. It’s what they do, act like the whiny emotionally unintelligent little sissies they are. They act tough but are really crying on the inside because they know women will never truly like them as a person. They have to beat women down to get anything from her. Manipulate women because they know women will never allow them to touch them if they had all the important information on the scum. Intelligent women like quality man, men who isn’t a sexist, men who treat women as human beings even women they want absolutely nothing from, etc.

Many men are insecure beings with a fragile ego, I think with some of them you need to make it more obvious that you're flirting with them otherwise it can go over their head. I believe that some of them still fear rejection even if they know you're being flirtatious, after all, many people do just flirt for the fun of it.

Unfortunately I'm not a guy so I'm not really sure what they'd want you to do to take things to the next level, but I do think my points still stand. I'm interested to know myself actually.

i do that with everyone that i like. it's a display of affection. i don't see how tease and banter is in the way of telling her how i feel. in my view, it's not. tho for me personally i don't say these things easily, cause when i say such things, i wanna be rock solid in my own conviction that i do actually mean it.

Men tease each other all the time. Military are the worst for it as it gets a bit harsh. Wifey is special, best friend material so she gets teased too. Its a guy thing that wives experience because they are special even though they don’t get it.

Considering how much more rejection guys take than women I really don't get why, how we do it, or how long it takes us to do it bothers you.
