How to tell if a quiet guy has a crush on a girl and is trying to hide it?

I have a crush on this guy, but he seems like a quiet one to me. Outside of public events, he usually catches me staring at him, but he will stare back for about 5 seconds. When he does approach me, he will talk last, and he only says one word calmly, then walks away. One time he looked down and smiled to himself before he had to talk to me.

After he does something like this, he will hide for a few days and doesn't pay me much attention.

Yesterday I saw him at a football game, when he first saw me he had his pop bottle in front of his face, partially covering everything but his eyes. He looked down at me for a split second, then looked back up. Throughout the night, he switched seats a million times. He would sit/stand on a bleacher in front of me, diagonal to me, he even sat behind me for about 2 minutes. Occasionally he would look at me out of the corner of his eye, discreetly glance, look over his shoulder quickly, even him and his friend looked over at me, scanned my legs really fast then turned around. He never said anything to me though, or smiled at me. He seemed flustered/nervous all night. When he talks to me he doesn't seem so nervous.

What's he feeling? Does he like me? Or am I reading too much into it?

Also, he saw me sitting on one of the top bleachers, and he quickly turned around and sat two bleachers in front of me.

If he is looking at you like he is checking you out, he probably likes you, but him constantly switching seats and not wanting to make actual contact with you probably means he doesn't like you but knows you like him

when he switched seats, it was always in a place within my view. I didn't talk to him at all during the night because he just didn't seem that approachable. When he is alone he is polite/friendly, but he just seemed to close up at this game.
