What are the best places to meet and talk to young women IRL?

Note: since modern dating and modern society as a whole as been drastically different post-pandemic. I would only want young women (ages 16-22) and young men around the same age to respond.

I know not to try to talk to any girl in a place where she is probably busy, like a library or a fucking Walmart because she's probably just busy doing something and doesn't want to be disturbed. It would be best if I could find a situation where we somehow were both forced to be there like a broken elevator, or a job, or school, you get the idea.

I just personally haven't had many opportunities to talk to a lot of young girls. I was home schooled (which means that I missed my chances in high school), I was raised and live in a small town (which means that there are hardly any young people here), and my current enrollment is a trade job, (which means they're no girls). I'm just looking for a place where I can meet and talk to a girl my age without looking like a jackass. Also something worse than a fear of rejection is a fear of her being too young or a married with children.

The thought of just approaching a random girl in public scares the shit out of me and I never see women my age anywhere else.

I think this is a problem which is becoming more and more common with young men do to the pandemic and just general social alienation.

I just recently turned 20, and I've never been in a relationship before. I know some girls find me attractive. A year ago I noticed a girl was looking at me and I could tell she liked me. I approached her and after talking to her for a short while, I got nervous and walked away and never saw her again, A decision which I deeply regret. It just makes me feel like shit knowing that I've never been with anyone and soon, another 10 years is going to go by and I'm going to be 30 and alone. On top of that I basically only have 1 male friend.

Anyway, can any girls or guys give me and other guys with my problem some advice.

Focus on putting yourself in places with people your age consistently, then keep interactions simple small talk, a smile, and a short conversation is enough.
