Out of curiosity why do you think some people get hit on and complimented by their own gender more than the other gender?

First off happy Father's Day to all of the Fathers out there, but in regards to the question I know a family member that this happens to, a couple of other people had said it happens to them, and it happens to me. Even though I don't go that way, I'm not complaining, one of the people feels offended, when that happens though. But in general, is it just simply that we look gay/lesbian

Yeah, probably look gay or lesbian, therefore people of the opposite gender might not hit on you as much

Could just be deemed more attractive by the same gender for whatever reason

Well first, the obvious! Some people just look better than others. And this is a large factor with BOTH genders. Regardless of what people say about "beauty being in the eye of the beholder", it's not wrong per se. But that comes AFTER what we agree as a society is attractive. Fat is unattractive skinny is attractive, thin lips is unattractive full lips are attractive. Long hair is attractive short hair is unattractive, muscles are attractive scrawny is unattractive etc. So if you not considered conventionally attractive you do not get top billing.🤣 But after comes personality. You can become attractive to a person, maybe even more than the conventionally attractive person to another person just based on you glowing personality.

I know a guy that's missing half his teeth. Dude looks like a human jack-o-lantern. But he's such a warm hearted solid dude that he pulled this girl I could only hope to get. I know she hates his teeth but she loves him.

Oh gotcha, I phrased the question weird, I meant like why would some dudes get hit on or complimented by other dudes more than they get hit on by women, or why would some women get hit on by other women, more than they get hit on by men.

I am among those who got hit more from the same sex. I got hit by a woman only once but it happened at least three times with guys.
My appearance isn’t gayish, I don’t behave like a gay (since I’m not), but evidently there’s something so I attract more my sex than the other one. I think it’s just… appearance? Maybe my appearance suits more the imaginary of a gay person than the one of a straight girl.
