Why are women complimenting other women more than men?

I have my theories but I want to hear from you.

We know that people are mostly into the opposite gender.

We know women are so clearly more complimented than men in general.

We know why men compliment women. It is because they are attracted or maybe because they were taught to do this.

But why do women mostly compliment other women? I'm not saying there has to be a selfish motive. I just want to know why women instead of men especially if she is into men. I'm sure some women would rather compliment men, so please share if you would and why.

Oh, that’s easy. Women complimenting women is taken for what it is, a compliment. The community of women and girlhood allows us to recognize that being able to compliment someone doesn’t have to go deeper, that it’s a way of showing support and encouraging bonds that already exist. Men do not have this community in manhood because masculinity treats every man as an island. Masculine standards say men need to stand alone, stoic, and whatever. Because of this, they do not receive the same levels of validation and attention as women do and compliments mean infinitely more to them. Can this be a reason to compliment men more? Sure. But the reality is when a woman compliments a man the likelihood that he now believes she’s sexually interested in him skyrockets and it can become a problem when she’s not interested, she just meant it as a compliment and nothing more. In these states, the likelihood that he wouldn’t understand that and use it as a means to harass her are much higher, so out of safety women usually keep their compliments to just other women.

Women supporting women ☺️🥰 Sometimes, women compliments are more genuine & uplifting vs other times getting compliments from men is flattering, but can be performative.


Some women don’t necessarily know how to give compliments to men. They may also don’t wanna give men the wrong idea. I actually like give compliments to everyone, but I do hold back a little with guys when I don’t want to give them the wrong idea or mislead them as well. I also don’t like being stalk, catcalls, or harassed 🥲 I’m sure some women experienced that just as me unfortunately.

Two primary reasons, i think.
One is that many women hate men and can’t bear the thought of being kind to them in any way.
Two is that even women who like and appreciate men, if they are the tiniest bit nice to dudes it makes them the target of affection. Too many men can’t discern simple kindness from flirting. So if a woman compliments a guy, he’ll probably hound her like a lonely puppy.
It’s a tragic cycle, honestly. Most men don’t get enough compliments and general kindness. So compliments and general kindness feel very meaningful and trigger a response that freaks women out because women are accustomed to compliments and general kindness.
This is one of the many ways that men need men more than women. Compliment your male friends, relatives, neighbors, classmates and coworkers. Do it sincerely and do it so often that they stop worrying that you’re being sarcastic. When men are getting regular compliments, it will be easier to accept them with grace regardless of who is offering them.

Because once upon a time a guy. would show interest in a woman

He would go some place and start showing interest in another woman

Then that first women would show up as he was talking to. the second women and the first women would blame the second women

there are lot of women that couldnt be around other women especially if men were at the same place

it's as if they were in competition

Instead of realizing the truth of the matter as they start to put it together they become smarter. Become friends

And realize who the jacket ass really is they now know they can trust the other women's word. Than. trust in the man's word. Because man or most men. They can't be trusted anymore because they keep proving themselves everyday

I think men have been raised to think if they compliment each other too much or too often, it's a come on to the other man and they're gay.

With women, we're just looking at stuff we like about women's clothes, makeup and thinking, she knows her look, that's pretty nice. It's not a come-on. It's genuine appreciation of someone's style.

Hopefully younger men are not so hung-up about complements. I think it makes someone's day when you notice something positive about their dress/style. It's uplifting!

Because she feels safer doing so , she doesn't really have to worry about the girl taking her compliment the wrong way, in most cases, where a guy will easily take it the wrong way, an assume she is flirting with him, and assume she wants him. So girls' rarely compliment a guy because of this reason. Why guys' should not be shy and make the first move, if he runs into a beautiful girl that he is interested in. i don't know the exact reason why but it's just a part of our culture that women routinely compliment each other especially on clothes and appearance. i think it's part of the 'women's code' in a way to compliment each other a lot. guys don't do it as much between themselves because it could be seen as gay maybe?

for women complimenting men, the problem is that often times if you compliment a guy, especially on his appearance, he will think you're flirting with him. personally i compliment men but often i find myself having to be careful of how i say it or even preface it with something so he doesn't think i have a crush on him or am trying to flirt.

I do it because friends are loyal to friends who make them feel good about themselves so compliments build connection. Woman might also need more compliments turn men due to being more emotionally absorbent then men. And complimenting opposite gender males might suggest sexual interest, so should be avoided outside your male romantic connection.

last week i told a dude at the gas station that i liked his shoes. he proceeded to lurk around me the entire time i was there, staring very indiscreetly and giving little peanut gallery comments. maybe he wasn't ill intentioned, but it made me uncomfortable. so for me that is why— just because we compliment someone does not mean we want their attention.

I love compliments from other woman. Some women are insecure about certain things and or are dealing with self esteem issues. A compliment can sometimes be helpful and it can be validating. It's also easier to connect with other women.

For Centuries we have been a patriarchal society. Less attention was paid to the accomplishments of women. This lack of emotional support by males was replaced by a Sisterhood. There has to be a reason to keep going.

I honestly compliment both men and women. But probably more women… and the reason being the same as others are saying. Some guys take the compliment as a show of romantic or sexual interest.
