Is the gas station clerk flirting or just being friendly?

She’s nice. But I’ve noticed that she tries to talk to me or make comments to sort of open a conversation up if it’s not busy. If there are people in line behind me not so much. Like random comments stuff like that.

I’ve noticed she touches me a lot giving me change back. But that could be a simple accident. I don’t want to make things weird flirting with someone at work because I’ve worked retail and I seen how often women are flirted with at work by dudes and it drives them crazy. Not because they’re rude but sometimes it’s over the top.

It for sure sounds like you’re a regular now at that gas station and she’s just being friendly since she knows you now. Let’s not reach too far with the whole handing you money thing. That’s just way too baseless and generic.

It can be but she doesn’t talk to other people like that near as much. She also smiles a lot and her eyes light up

I feel like that’s hard to determine because you only pass through the gas station maybe what, 3x a week? You walk in, pay for gas, maybe say your hello’s and go. You aren’t around to see other regular faces which I’m sure there are. You mainly see interactions with people who aren’t from your city or who you just don’t see there frequently. Not trying to douse your hopes whatsoever, if you like her you should totally ask her out. I’m just judging this situation and it doesn’t sound like any signs to work with.

She started talking less and less…. It got to just have a good day and not as many comments. But it depends on the day.

I did start initiating more conversations though and she’s sharing things that are a little TMI…. And she has a boyfriend but has been complaining about him. So I don’t think I’ll pursue anything seems like if she’s flirting it can get messy

She could be flirting with you, but it could also be totally innocent. Really no way to tell just based on that.
