Is this cashier flirting or just being friendly?

There's a cute cashier at the grocery store I frequent in my town. and I'm not sure how I'd signal my interest to someone I don't know that well or only in a "professional" setting. Whenever I see him he's always super smiley and friendly. Of course, that could just be him being good at his job.
I’ve caught him looking at me before: a couple of weeks ago I went to the checkout of his colleague and he literally turned right around to look at me as I was stood in the queue. The week after he said hey to me as I came in, unprompted. I thought I’d better move things on. I mentioned that we had a mutual acquaintance in my brother, he sounded genuinely surprised. We then got talking about travelling (my brother has recently moved overseas and he asked after him) He was really chatty so chatty that I actually had to stop him and ask what I owed. After I paid, he said “it’s really nice to put a face to a name” I replied in kind and left. It’s funny because as I was walking back to the car I realised I hadn’t even told him my first name. He just knows I’m related to my brother. There was lots of eye contact and smiling.

I saw him today and he was chatty, less so than last time but he seemed distracted and messed up scanning my items, there was a little bit of crossed hands/hand brushing then he finished with “take care of yourself, see you soon”. Then winked at me and said, "take care of yourself, see you soon". I mean, he could just be being friendly because of the connection to my brother or because he works in retail. I really don’t know what to think. What does it seem from the outside? I need some objectivity here! Thanks, everyone!
