Well I personally don't really understand the purpose of small talk and flirting around. I always hate that stage where you don't know what a person's deal is yet and it's not appropriate to reveal too much of yourself. Like I want deep convos, I wanna know who you are, I want you to know who I am. You can start with the over the top compliments and teasing, but without the idea of us having a future together I don't care for it. I really prefer a man that has clear boundaries with people while in a relationship because I'm like that. If you're going to do monogamy be serious about it, that's how I see it.

Flirts are generally less happy with their partners so their is a negative impact.

Most people would not flirt in front of their partners very eyes so it is a covert mating activity.

If a pair of singles are sussing each other out for suitability than I would think that harmless.
