Why do I only like to flirt?

I don't like nothing else, but just flirting is my thing, it's been always like this and people expect something after flirting so I just run away why am I like this?

My first suggestion for things like this will always be therapy if you haven’t had it already. But I know that different obstacles can come with that whether it’s financial or otherwise. So if therapy isn’t an option right now then here’s a simple method to explore and mindset to consider.


How you choose to date really derives from past experiences. Mind you the past is anything but today so it could’ve been a recent situation. Sometimes it doesn’t even have to be your own experience, but things you witnessed another person go through that you wouldn’t want for yourself. So figure out what the source of this decision is (because choosing to act this way is a choice), and start unpacking that. Eventually you’re going to figure out why you act the way that you do, and should commit to doing the work to heal that.


It sounds like you’re trying to protect yourself from hurt, disappointment, or being used. You say that after flirting men want more, does that mean sexually or emotionally? Because if he’s only looking for a hookup then obviously avoid that. But if he’s actually trying to date and you want that eventually as well, just keep in mind that it’s ok to have a wall up, but there should always be a gate. Otherwise no one can get in.
