Why does this coworker stare at me constantly if he’s not interested?

I want some opinions because I’m genuinely confused There’s this guy I work with who is constantly staring at me. Every time I look up, he’s looking at me. If I’m talking to someone or interacting with somebody, he’s watching. When I walk past him, he stares. It’s basically every time he sees me. So naturally, I started thinking maybe he was interested in me. And I also find him attractive.

A few days ago, I got a soda from the vending machine and two came out. It was a soda I know he likes because I’ve seen him buy it before plenty of times so I sent him a quick text asking if he wanted the extra one. Nothing flirty or serious just being nice since I wasn’t going to drink it anyway. And I wanted to break the ice.

He completely ignored the message. I know he saw it because afterward he was acting a little weird around me. So at this point, I’ve accepted that he’s probably not interested in me. But what I don’t understand is WHY he stares at me so much.

If a guy isn’t interested in a woman, why would he constantly stare at her every time he sees her? I’m not talking about one or two glances. I mean constantly

I've only had that phenomenon happen with this girl who seemed to have an overlapping schedule with me. I couldn't keep my eyes and attention off her. She had a glow to her and everytime I see her, she is more attractive. I had my own issues that prevented me from doing anything, but I still deeply regret not forcing my self to do something of substance. I had a plan, but she suddenly disappeared the week before.

It shouldn’t matter. Yu don’t date coworkers. Hope he isn’t interested and just do what you’re being paid to do.
