Nope. I haven’t lied in two decades. I used to lie a lot; almost compulsively. Honesty is simpler and easier to maintain. It’s also less egotistical.
Even people who claim “little white lies to preserve people’s feelings” are full of crap. The truth always comes out. You can deliver the truth with as much compassion as you can muster and share in their hurt, if you truly care. Otherwise, you lie and when the truth does come out they are hurt by the truth AND by the fact that you, probably someone they trusted and cared about, lied to them. You don’t preserve anyone’s feelings with lies. You preserve your own. You don’t want to be the one who hurts someone else’s feelings. Well, guess what, if you truly care, that’s exactly what you’re supposed to do. Don’t double the damage by putting it off on someone.
I never lie anymore. I absolutely refuse and i don’t associate with people who i know are unrepentant liars.
No I don’t lie to make anyone feel anything. Sometimes if a truth is too harsh I’ll share a small part then the next small part then the last small part at different times to see how they’re reacting, however I won’t miss-tell a story or lie outright or strategically omit information just to make someone like me. There’s no point to it.
Not really. I won’t necessarily tell them I disagree with what their opinion or I might withhold certain personal information until I get to know them, but I won’t fabricate something in exchange for “friendship”. That’s not what I would call a friend.
No, I learned that lesson decades ago. If they don't like who you really are, it will never last.
Never have I lied to someone to make them like me.
Either you like me just as I am, or you don't
@queenofcardio so far so good. 😊😊
Lol 😆 😊
nope... that would be the stupidest thing for me to do
Nah. I don't care much about being liked. I'm just me.
Never ever. What you see is what you get. Lying is so stressful. Making life more difficult than it needs to be is something I actively avoid.
I don't lie about anything! Honesty is the best policy. (Unless it's going to cause physical pain to someone)
Ultimately divorce - I have seen it happening from close-up.
The fact that they will find out is exactly why you DON'T lie in the first place.
Well I think I would consider telling a white lie in an effort to avoid hurting the feelings of another.
