You remember the movie Grease? If not you should watch it! Danny and Sandy spend the WHOLE summer together alone but when they both go back to school, Danny starts teasing Sandy when he's with the guys... Its a common thing for guys to do, in order not to lose respect in front of other guys. Its immature and stupid but "boys" will usually do this. Guys older than that, won't let pride and "bromance" take over you... Don't forget that this shift in how he treats you alone vs with the guys, reflects on how much he wants to "please" his friends, not you. Its OK to joke around in a crowd, but if it gets out of hand, I mean... be careful... look for signs of "romance" over "bromance" Men are prouder of their woman more than their boys, usually.

to me it sounds like he's a bit immature. trying to impress his friends, not you...he knows you like him and tease him back or at least respond to him around his friends. so it's like he's picking up someone in front of his friends lol sorry I don't know how to explain it! but as so many other times, I think it's an ego thing. in 90% of the cases its the guy's ego lol guys are all about egos ^^
He's showing off in front of his friends. Maybe his little mouth might have mentioned he likes you to his friends, so his way to prove your interest in him is by teasing you in front of them. Sounds like he's fun to be around with.

i think he is interested in you so he tries to do anything to win your attention. but its not always falling in love. I think he thinks you look cute. ya know... cute girls often make guys wanna "tease" them.

In my opinion, perhap your friend also like you. However, he don't know your feeling, and he felt shy in front of the friends.
