question too short blah blah blah
If a guy asks a girl if she is a good cook? Any significance or just curious?
question too short blah blah blah
There could be many reasons for this:
For once, he could be a foodie himself (I cook) and a good conversation is almost always guaranteed over interesting combinations, recipes, or techniques. In this case, he could be firing off an ice-breaker hoping to chat to you more.
Second, he could be testing you to see whether you are one of those uptight feminists who just refuse to cook as a matter of principle (I think this is so 1970s – I mean, surely today we have moved past that and it is perfectly acceptable for both men and women to cook purely out of choice) or whether you are (as one user has already mentioned) a spoilt brat and expect it to be done for you.
I understand women who a still a little iffy about the subject of cooking, because I would also hate it if I were seen not as an individual, but as a kitchen-bound indentured housewife. But, as a man, I will not put up with some patriarchal relic telling me what a man should or should not do (I think it is actually quite manly to invite friends over for supper and to cook a large bowl of pasta for them); by the same token, I would not put up with some militant feminist telling me whether I should have cooking skills or not. So, if you do not cook and you want to pass the test, you can always mumble something about being new to it and wanting to learn more. If you do cook and you say that, you just passed the test with flying colors.
Also, he could be checking out whether you are wife material (in the best sense of the word). Women would hate it, but it is important generally for a man that a woman can cook (unless he is in the league where he could afford his own private chef) much as men hate it, but it is a fact that it is important for a for a woman that a man earn a decent pay check. It is not about being resentful, just a reality check.
So, can you actually cook? ;-)
lol yep, wonderful answer :)
I ask because I like to show off my cooking skills. Too many feminist nazis still think us men only want women for the kitchen and the bed. The truth is that I have more faith in my cooking skills than most of these younger college girls who only make reservations and how to brew a mixed drink.
I know the women are not interested in me so I'm not even trying anymore. It's just to show that lots of men really know how to take care of themselves.
I think that's great that you know how to cook! It makes you one in a million.
What would the significance be? It's like when you talk about hobbies or school or work. It's just making conversation, being interested (but not in a way where you should analyse everything he says or does).

I generally do it to see if they are a spoiled brat or not. If they don't know how to cook, I assume their parents have done everything for them their entire life and given her everything she wants. She's never had to do, she expect others to do for her.
i was a spoiled brat when I was younger like from birth to 15 years old and I never really learned how to cook till I turned 22. yes my parents and maids did everything for me back then but as soon as I turned 17 I had to learn on my own when my parents sent me to a far city to study. I am not a very good cook but so far I only got a few complaints from my man but I'm trying everyday :) I don't really expect people to do things for me now. people change
Sure people can change, but that doesn't mean I want to date girls that "need to change". When they get passed that, and become better women then they are more worth while. You say you changed at 17, but I've met women that are in their mid 20s and still lack the independence to do for themselves.
He wants to hire you maybe.
He wants to see if you'll be a good housewife.
Lol, don't take these seriously please. Probably shouldn't read anything beyond what the words mean.
In my case, since I do all my own cooking, it would be just curious.
good question 5 stars! I can relate! ^-^
Just curious usually
