When a guy asks a girl to cook for him, what does it mean?

I'm texting with a guy and I've got some signs that he might like me. Today I sent a picture of when I was cooking and then I described what I cooked, then he wrote "you have to cook this for me sometime". What does this mean? Did he see this as an opportunity to see if I might want to hang out with him in the future?

Are you two not friend already? In this case it could go either way, however if you truly want see if he wants to hangout with you in the future there are some other things you could do to spark a direct or indirect answer to your question. If you want to be straightforward go ahead and ask him but do so in a manner that comes off naturally, on the other hand if you want to be indirect do what you similar in the situation above. Personally I would be more direct as some of us aren’t great on picking up context clues and if your direct you will most likely get a straight forward answer. Good luck.

Ah I see now, ok that’s fine then mix it up a little bit you can be direct without totally being direct with him this way you don’t scare him off and you will still end up getting the answer you seek. When I say mix it up a little what I mean by that is do small things things like you mentioned above and this time when he responds go along the lines of inviting him to dinner, it sounds like he already asked you out when he said that but didn’t want to scare you off, it appears as though he is waiting on the invitation from you I got to say very clever on his part. When your ready go ahead and invite him over and who knows you where it will go from there, remember you don’t want to go into the future thinking what could have been and regret missing this opportunity.

Thank you so much, I will definitely use your advice. And that last thing you wrote is very true and clever. Do you have any recommendations on something I could write, to not scare him off. Maybe something like “ did you wanna hangout and eat empanadas someday?”

Honestly there isn’t anything you can do to scare him off at this point but if you’d like go ahead and add some wit to it. Next time you cook go ahead and text him start it off as you both naturally would then when you get into it go ahead and let him know: hey I’d love to take you up on that offer now I made *insert foods* would you like to come over? It’s a gentle approach and got some wit that he’d probably like.

Yup. You solved it. Of course it could also just be a way to say that the food looks tasty. I absolutely have been on both ends of that line though. Usually it meant we wanted to have dinner together.
