Gf will not put up a photo of us together on fb?

Question

I asked my girlfriend to put a photo up of both of us months ago and asked her again, but she hasn't. She said Facebook shouldn't be a thing between us.

Why wouldn't she want a photo of both of us on there? She did before. She has been putting profile photos up of her and her friends.

it is true that Facebook can mess up relationships but I believe that can only happen if you don't have a strong foundation within your relationship. It would totally suck if she is doing all this bragging about you and showing you off and you two don't even really know each other like that and then end up not lasting. If you two have not even been together 6 months then maybe she is trying to move slow with you, well at least that would be my reasons for not posting a pic of us up.

If I was really really sure about my man and in love with him then I would at least have one thing up on Facebook that says that I am taken and happy with my decision, but because I am the type of person who does not like people all in my bussiness I will not constantly brag about him in Facebook statuses and post every pic of us up on Facebook. I don't want people to know what good thing I have found, I just like to keep my man all to myself. But that is just me, I'm a private person, and maybe she is too. I also would not announce my man to the world yet if we have not been together a year, I would tell my best friends and family about him but not the world because I want to make sure that we have a strong relationship first and I'd just like to keep our building process private because I don't want anyone or anything to mess us up. But that is just me. I like to move slow in order to build a strong relationship.

If you really have faith in your relationship then I would suggest you not pressure her about Facebook and that you two should continue to build trust, but if you don't have faith in your relationship then you could take the weak insecure route and just assume she is not posting a pic up because she is afraid she won't be getting the same attention from her admirers anymore.

I experienced a similar situation. I dated a guy once and we took some incredible pictures in the mountains and he posted one on his Facebook (my friend told me, I actually don't have Facebook). After having it on there one day, he changed his profile picture and actually deleted it completely from his page altogether. So weird. He never put another one up there again.

I think it's weird, especially for a GIRL not to put pictures like that up. Most women post a billion pictures of them with their men. It sounds like she doesn't want people to know of your relationship, or maybe she doesn't want one particular person to know.

I say you're justified in feeling something is wrong. It may not be a big deal or anything, but there is definitely a reason she isn't wanting her Facebook friends to see you two together. Maybe try asking her about it, just saying it's weird and you don't understand. Forcing her to do it or giving her ultimatums isn't the way to go, but just asking for an honest answer why she won't post some is fine, and in your right.

To be honest, this is not a very good sign. I stopped posting pictures of my boyfriend and I when I stopped being happy with him. He kept asking why, and I just said, "its just the internet, don't worry about it," But the truth was, I felt myself pulling away from him.

As dumb as it sounds, your Facebook is basically a depiction of what you want the world to know about you. If she is hiding something, it is because she doesn't want the world to know about it. Regardless of the reason WHY she doesn't want to show your relationship off, the end result is the same: closing you out.

People should be proud of the relationships they are in. I knew I wasn't proud of mine anymore, and I didn't want to post pictures of him, it just felt fake to me. I broke up with him.

Also, it drives me nuts when people say "its just Facebook," or "its just texting" or something like that. Anytime something seems to be wrong, even if it is through the medium of technology, it is because there really is something wrong. It reflects real life.

It's one of those things that shouldn't matter... but it does.

I think Facebook is a huge waste of time. But very few women think that it is. It matters to them. Big time. If she is hesitant to show off her man to the world, something is amiss, my friend.

If I were you, I wouldn't mention it again. But it could definitely be a warning sign. Be alert, not alarmed.

One of my ex's wasn't into the whole relationship sh*t on Facebook either. He told me it was cause he didn't want everyone in his business between me and him. I didn't understand at first, but now I understand what he meant.

Does her status say she's in a relationship with you or single or anything at all?

I actually think it's a good idea, Facebook is such a relationship-ruiner! Then it'll be like: "oh, is that your boyfriend? I saw him last week at that bar with that girl", or someone who's just an acquintance will like the photo and it can cause drama, yes, just from a simple "like" button.

If she shows you she loves you, she meets up with you, you hang out, and your relationship is good, PLEASE, don't worry about a stupid thing like Facebook.

Maybe she does not like putting her personal life out there at this stage in life. And besides, Facebook can be a destroyer of relationships, I know, I have had the experience and it is not pretty. So why no respect her wishes and just keep your relationship protected between the two of you?

nagging her to put up a pic of both of you won't help.. it comes across as needy.. I never had a pic with my ex up on my profile pic and I was in his and I really loved him.. I just didn't want to be one of those girls who is defined by my love life.. So don't ask her to do that or you'll smother her... If she tells you she loves you and wants your attention etc that should be enough for you to know how she feels about you

More than likely, she either a) hates that picture because she thinks she look ugly or b) buddy, this relationship might not last much longer...
