Why did this girl start paying a lot of attention to me after she rejected me?

I don't get this. I pursued a girl for awhile, and she was definitely interested at first, so we ate lunch together. It was clear that there were some differences between us, but I still felt a connection, so I asked her out again. She said she'd think about it; a week later, she flat-out said she wasn't interested, so I stopped approaching her.

Well, in the 3 weeks since then, I've seen quite a change in her behavior. She is now going out of her way to converse with me every time she sees me (she never initiated conversation beforehand) and she always has a big smile on her face. If she's sitting on the other side of the room, she'll steal glances at me. When I'm in class, I can feel her staring at me. She won't talk to me when I'm talking to other girls, though--but as soon as they're gone, she'll approach me again.

I don't get this. Why does she seem 10x as interested in me after rejecting me? I'm not even that into her anymore.

i think she wants to be friends. like, she's doesn't want your friendship to end just cause you ask her out. I think she may also like you somewhat more then she did before... she wants to you to only look at her as if she were everything to you. she doesn't want you to go on ahead and find another girl to love. she doesn't want to date you but she wants you to give her your full attention. it may seem strange but she doesn't want you to look at anyone but her. I suggest you ignore her or tell her your no longer interested. make sure to make it seem like your only friends or she won't ever give up.

She could want to be friends with you, because you're cool and a great person, just not the right guy for her. Or maybe she's changed her mind. Sometimes you don't realize what you've got till their gone. Another option is that she likes you, but likes someone else more. That happens to me all the time.

its the chase! when you stop trying to get a girl and start ignoring her it makes her want you more because now ur not all on her bout her decision on if she will go out wit u! when you kno a guy wants you its no fun guys like a challenge and so do girls!

Girls are weird like that lol. Okay, to be fair, everyone is usually weird like that. People just want what they can't have. Uou showed lots of interest in her initially and that put her off because you were too obvious and available. But now that you're no longer pursuing her she longs for your attention. I dunno. Just go with the flow I guess. Keep her on her toes and see if she's just trying to get your attention or if she's had a sincere change of heart and actually wants you.

Freezing her (as in not paying to attention to her) works as an effective technique to make girls want you more or seeing you as a possible boyfriend instead of just a friend and I think this is a great example. I think you could ask her out again since she seems to like you more than she did previously or sees you with different eyes.

She's either changed her mind, or is only doing that because she thinks that you're interested in her.

this may be weird, but girls like guys who seem to ignore them.. who act like they don't care. when you layed back, she was probably wondering ' why?' so, she's trying to get your attention now
