Guys. Hugs vs. HUGS!

I have this guy friend who has been my friend for years, and I have recently started to develop feelings for him. I want you to know that before I go on, just to analyze if I'm reading too much into a situation.

but anyway..

Lately instead of his side hugs, he has been giving me bear hugs. chest to chest with his hands around my waist, and every hug he presses his cheek to mine. Also, each time we hug, the hugs last longer and he holds on tighter. Last hug we had I tried to pull away but he squeezed me tighter. What does that mean?

I myself am socially autistic when it comes to reading "signs" from women. I am however ugly and have learned not to expect much. So I miss a lot of the subtlety women are famous for. Here is the real scoop here. This guy is NOT socially autistic. He has the same feelings for you that you have for him. Here is the rub. You sit him down and let him know you would like to take your relationship in another direction. He has been a friend for years so honesty is important here. Get rid of all the BS signs and hints and open your mouth. Ask him if he is interested. Let him tell you if he is or not before you bare your soul. I wouldn't bet my life that he is... But I would bet Ben Afleks life. You have the hard part done. You are friends already. The best relationships start as friends and then grow into something beautiful. Don't be awkward. This is your friend, make sure it stays that way even if you become lovers.
