What symbol would represent staying true to yourself?

I want a tattoo that reminds me that I should stay true to who I am, that I shouldn't let the opinion of haters bother me. That I am who I am and I should love myself. I'm a big fan of freedom as well, so I want two birds in it (for my sister and me). I was thinking of the quote "to thine own self be true" but I'm not 100% liking it. I was thinking about a mirror where you can see the two birds in it, but there should be other things in there as well, something that represents the fact that I should love myself how I am. But I have no idea! I was thinking instead of the mirror maybe a dandelion or a feather, both flowing over in birds, but I don't know...

Any of you have an idea?

And please no negative answers about tattoos, that's not what I'm asking, I'm asking for serious ideas that could actually help me.

Dandelions fly so freely in the air, and it's like how cool it is to look at them.

I know, and it reminds me of being a kid and making a wish with that flower.. Though I don't really find nice pictures of tattoos I wanna base myself on, they all make the flower itself look so dark.
