Would you ever like someone who you had to tutor or would you think they're stupid when they don't get things?

This year I am taking AP Stats, and don't understand a thing that goes on in that class. I am getting a terrible grade, and my parents keep saying I need to get a tutor. I keep saying that I don't want one because I don't think it is necessary to pay the money for one since I am already accepted to college, and there is so little time left before the AP exam that it will not make much of a difference anyway, even though in reality I'm sure that it would still help. Even though I am opposed my parents made me ask my teacher if he could suggest someone to tutor me, and he said he did not know anyone who could tutor for his class. My cousin lives not too far from me though, and has an extremely hot friend who is also extremely smart, and especially good at math. My mom just told me that he would be able to tutor me. I still do not think tutoring is necessary, although my parents do and I'm sure it would help. Now I have a dilemma though about the boy, because if I agree to having him tutor me then that gives me a chance to see him, when without him tutoring me I would most likely never see him again. On the other hand, I'm terrible at stats, and think him tutoring me would just make him think I'm stupid when I don't understand basically anything while he thinks it is all very easy.

So my basic question, if you were ever tutoring a girl could you enjoy spending the time with her and ever end up liking her, or would the fact that she is struggling with things so easy to you be a turn off?

(the actual fact about whether I should get a tutor isn't what I'm asking because I already know that I don't really want one, but getting one would probably help my grade)

Yes, tutoring someone is a great way to get to know them better and spend time together.

No, tutoring is just a job. I would only tutor someone to get paid, and would not want to get to know them more outside of tutoring (whether or not that reason is because while tutoring the person, she comes off as extremely unintelligent)

The only thing which is a turn off in a girl is if she is fat. Bad attitude too.

Solution: Assuming you're relatively good looking, and I mean above average, you have to let the guy tutor you. Why? Because this might be the only chance for you to get to know a great guy with extremely rare husband potential. It doesn't matter if you're not smart, you're definitively not the only woman. And I might even admit that that is even a bit cute, but that's not my point. My point is you do not let that guy get away. Just be nice and pretty and he'll have no escape.

ur tripping... you're already accepted into college, but that means you're still in high school rite?

anybody taking ap classes in high school is usually in the smarter portion of the graduating class lol.

first of all I'm getting paid

second...whether I'm tutoring a girl has no impact on whether I like the girl...it forces both people to spend time together which cud grow into sumthin more

My tutor was (sexually) interested in me while I was the biggest moron when it came down to that subject.. it scared me so I left. But then again I am 19 years old and he's a 42-year-old man with kids. If I were you, I would go for it, just try it several times. Guys enjoy helping girls, that's their natural instinct and no of course he won't think you're stupid. Just don't forget that it's about improving your GRADE, not your love life. Don't let it distract you.

I had the biggest crush on my tutor in hs. He was in college and I was a junior, he was only like 3 years older then me and he was so smart and cute. If only I didn't have a bf...

To answer your question I don't think it would be a turn off at all. If anything they would feel good about themselves around you since they feel like they're helping you.

Just because you struggle with this doesn't mean you struggle with other things. Unless he thinks so..or you'll just focus on him, and learn nothing! Get another tutor. And get him to give you a briefing, as to what might you expect to learn, should he become your tutor! Then you got both!

My closest non-romantic female friend was tutored in high school by this boy who actually took advantage of her sexually, so it's impossible, I guess. I would feel a little bit weird about it, though, personally.

I've done this before. It's a joy to get the opportunity to teach someone you love but it gets frustrating if after teaching the same subject over and over again she still hasn't got it.
