Can being more muscular help a short guy be more attractive?

Generally I speaking I know most girls are attracted to taller guys. I also know it typically has something to do with taller men appearing more masculine and making her feel more secure.

That being said, do you think a short guy can gain some advantage in the dating world by becoming a bit more on the muscular side?

Yeah I'm not talking muscular as in looking like my muscles will explode. I'm just talking about going from an average frame to adding another 20lb of muscle or so and just looking a bit stockier. Since I'm only 5'5" I figure it will help compensate for my height so that I can still portray a masculine and secure image to girls.

I'm 5'8 :) Not good looking but did lots of weight lifting, strong enough to lift a 270lbs girl and hold her in the air. Also am big into martial arts.

It definitely will help but maybe not as much as you're hoping for. Best to do it for yourself and feel good about yourself, it would translate into confidence and that is probably what would attract more than just being muscular alone.

Yes, of course. It shows your masculinity, thus it attracts the attention of women. Also, work on your social skills. It will give you a big boost a lot in the dating world.

Muscular guys(not Arnie muscular) generally have an advantage in the dating world, regardless of height...

There seems to be this common trend of tall fat guys in America, so yeah, a short muscular guy is at an advantage.
