Was I right to avoid bar that ex works at or should it not matter if I'm there

so I live in a small city you'd say , not a lot of night life options , this former girlfriend that I known for a few years works at this one bar / club that is here . I usually would go there on Saturdays but last couple weeks I've just avoided the place as I didn't want to see her and wanted to avoid the drama . but there isn't a lot of other options for bars just a pub and a couple sports bars so not much to do if I don't go to bar so I'll have to go back at some point . is it right to avoid place if I didn't want to see her or should it not matter if I'm there as long is I'm just being casual and not going out of my way to try and talk to her

I don't think there's a problem with you going there no. I wouldn't say too much though as she is at work after all. Just be your casual self I would say.

yeah that's sort of how things have been the last few times I was there , just small talk about nothing much at bar , but a lot of the time she is busy so I wouldn't talk to her . and there is of course other girls there I could talk to or at least try to . but I find I'm enjoying that bar less this summer than during past ones so I might not go there much anyways

I suppose with time you will feel more comfortable around each other. In the meantime as you said maybe go there still but not so often.

yeah I still go there the odd time , last few visits have been good , no issues between us to mention
