I'm nearly 20 but look like I'm closer to 16 on most days.

Trending & News It could be but he also doesn't want to get charged of statutory rape.
Now that you brought this up, it seems that in my junior/senior year high school (graduated in 2012), many people thought I looked mature enough to be in my 20's but now that I'm on my 2nd year of college, it seems that people who meet me think I look young for my age.
Look a little bit mature if you can so that guys don't get the wrong impression.
My girl friend (not girlfriend) is 19 and this guy in the gym who's 36 hits on her constantly, I think she can pass up as someone in their early 20's (20-23). Creepy part is, that guy didn't seem to mind that she's 19 (she's legal, but she thinks it's a little weird) and said that's he's really attracted to her (I have to admit, my friend is beautiful hahaha).
I can't look more mature. I've got young looking features and I'm petite
Petite is cute. Young looking features are desirable, I guess the only way of making it more mature is the way you dress.
In the long run though, looking young is a big plus since some people age really terrible. :)
I suppose you're speculating that the guys are asking your age, because they want to make sure you're over 18, so they don't get in trouble if they hit on you.
But usually a guy should never ask a woman what her age is. I certainly never do.
So under normal circumstances, I would say it's not a sign of interest. It's a sign of "none of your business" and nosiness. I sure don't like it when that's the first question thrown at me.
I don't think I would act the same as those guys, even if you do look 16. There are more subtle ways to figure it out.
I also get "are you even old enough to be having that beer?!" Or "are you old enough to be working here?!"
depends on the context but if it is one of the first things he asks most probably. the only times I've gotten that are when older guys are trying to hit on me.

He could simply be cautious: he doesn't want to go on a date with someone too much younger than him (esp. if you look more like 16 than 20). No idea why all the guys that have asked that are interested in you though...
Because I'm attractive. Just have a baby face hahaha. I look like jail bait.
Maybe ALL is an exaggeration - don't know about the ones in the bars and such but mutual friends and coworkers and moms friends children and such - yes.
yeah it can be I ask all the time how old the girl is straight away. if I don't care about her I wouldn't ask in a conversation
That's extremely creepy to say.
no, that's generalizing
Yes usually it is.
I would think so.
I would say it is.
