When it comes to singing, can teenage girls sing better than teenage boys?

Do girls have a much more better singing voice than boys?

I'm asking cause on this TV show "The Voice" that air's on NBC, it seems like the judges love to pick teenage girls who have a great voice, but they rejected the teen boys, and I thought the boys had a great voice as well. The only male contestants that's competing on "The Voice" are the guys who are legal adults, but all the underage boys where turn down by the judges. Those boys were robbed.

My only guess for this is that young boys' voices are unpredictable once they hit puberty, while girls' voices don't change a whole lot in comparison to how much male voices change. So from their perspective of potentially putting someone into the entertainment industry, they would usually go with the safer bet that a girl with a good voice will keep it through puberty, while a boy's voice may or may not stay the same.

Just look at someone like Tevin Campbell from the 90's. When he was young, his voice was so pure and his range & control was excellent. Post-puberty, and the deepness killed off some of the appeal of his singing voice to the point where he's now just a guy that posts videos on YouTube.

TL;DR

My guess is that when puberty hits, girls are a safer bet than boys for keeping their singing voice, so girls have the advantage.

Yeah, teen guys can sound nice but it's much rarer. They go through puberty later than girls so their voices get all screwed up until they're in their late teens/early 20's.

I would say yes because girls voices don't crack when singing or going through puberty.

Singing varies upon the person. Those boys probably sucked to the judges. Stop making it seem like a sexist issue when there isn't one.
