Why would a guy ask if you want kids?

my guy friend asked me the other day if I wanted kids

1) He could be interested and wants to know what kind of future you have in mind.

2) Also very likely. Maybe he's been considering his future and isn't sure if he wants kids or not. He may be curious to see what a girl friend around the same age thinks on the matter to help him figure out his thoughts on it.

3) I suppose he could have just thought it'd be an interesting thing to know about you. I sometimes tell certain friends of mine that I think they'll make great moms one day if they ever have a kid. It's not because I want to be with them/have a child with them, it's just because I see the potential in them and think that they're the kind of parent a child needs instead of the kind of parent some children get. Perhaps he has thoughts like that when it comes to you and was curious as to whether or not kids was something you've ever considered.

Because he wants to know if you want to have kids someday. Not necessarily with him, he just wants to know if that's one of your goals in life. Some people want to have kids, other don't. Some hate kids. Some love kids. He wants to know which kind of person you are.

Maybe he is just curious or maybe he is interested in having kids of his own, and would like your opinion. It could be just polite conversation, he is your friend trying to get to know you.

As everyone says, curiosity. Don't read too much into it. A guy friend constantly talks about how much he wants kids but I know he's not hinting anything, just expressing his wishes.

It's a reasonable question. Doesn't have to mean anything (don't be that crazy person who reads way too much into some simple comment, and assumes it means he wants you to have his babies)..

My guess is that he wanted to know if you ever wanted kids. That's just a guess though, he might have meant something completely different to what he said. Men are so mysterious.
