Emotional attraction?

Girls, is it true that you need to feel an emotional connection with a guy to become attracted to him or get you turned on? I've heard girls say that they can see a hot guy but just enjoy the view but not actually have any interest in dating him. I know that's not true with us guys Because as soon as see a cute or hot girl, we're jumping on that train to try to get her. If it is true, then how do you explain girls that have one night stands where there's no emotional connection really?

if I see a hot guy in person I'm like hmm...and I'll try and catch his eye so we can talk and then I'll decide whether or not to date him. but if it's a famous guy I don't know anything about him personally, he's just a hot body. if I want to date a guy because he's hot without knowing anything else about him, then I'm just thinking about him in terms of sex and eye-candy not meaningful relationships. yeah this sounds a bit confusing even to me, but that's the best I can explain it.

I cannot answer for all the women, but as for me, this is actually true, well, at least for now.

When I feel somehow connected to a guy, he may even not be that attractive, but I definitely want to go out with him. The opposite doesn't mean necessarily I'll never go out with the guy, but if he proves to be someone with whom I have not really much in common it gets me turned off.

That's not always true. If I think you're fine enough then the physical attraction is all I need. The "needing emotional connection to get turned on" bit is only true if the guy is not that good looking.

That just has "bullsh-t" written all over it. And never heard of the term "emotional connection"; I don't think girls see a guy and think "Hey, he looks like he would be a great platonic friend. I'm gonna go and stand next to him and hope he'll initiate conversation so we'll become best friends"

Not true for me. An emotional connection makes things better, but it's a deciding factor at the get go.
