Why do so many people hate oatmeal raisin cookies?

Pretty much everyone I know who
has had oatmeal raisin cookies don't like them. Like whenever there's cookies at an event, almost nobody ever eats the oatmeal raisin cookies. Why do people hate them so much?

  • They are the fruit cake of cookies, and this is coming from someone who routinely makes batches of cookies including oatmeal raisin for friends and family. Fruit based cookies don't tend to do well and add a crap ton of oat fiber into that (pun intended), they can be a rough cookie to get down. A lot of people don't like the texture of mouth feel of the cookies. People like a satisfying crunch of a nut or a sugar cookie, but they don't like biting into that warm lump of fruit surrounded by what will essentially be colon paste.

  • If its soft I'll wag the oatmeal part maybe. But I like my food to be smooth so nuts, coconut, or raisin type stuff I don't like getting in the way if that makes sense
