When I took the Pepsi Challenge in 1982, it was Pepsi for me - and always had been.
However, when the new Coke was introduced in 1985, it was disgusting and many - including me - craved the Old Coke. You could have sold bottles or cans of Old Coke for $100; I am serious. I horded Old Coke too buying them from vending machines before the change was complete.
Anyway, New Coke was a disaster. Something now taught in business schools.
To survive, Coca-Cola needed to bring back Old Coke while still selling New Coke. They did that by creating "Coca-Cola Classic" and was labeled as such. Of course, that sold very well and eventually, in the USA, all New Coke was gone and Coke dropped the "Classic" from the label.
Since that time, I am more of a Coca-Cola drinker. I got older and recognized its distinctive flavor and use in mixed drinks.
However, I rarely drink anything with added "sugar" now and I will not drink Coke nor Pepsi because they use high fructose corn syrup which, to put it kindly, is Satan's cum.
The taste of anything - including Coca-Cola - tastes like shit now compared to the original recipes which involve sugar. Therefore, when I do buy a Coca-Cola, I buy Mexicoke only.

I like Pepsi for taste but I drink cola a bit more regularly.

I don’t drink soda anymore but if I had to choose then it would be the company that makes Mountain Dew
I prefer Pepsi.

Coke, but to be clear: "zero", "diet", "light", "caffeine free" and "life" are NOT Coke.
They do not taste like Coke.
They do not react like Coke.
Whilst Coke may contribute to diabetes development in people genetically disposed to type 2 diabetes and the phosphoric acid in it can agitate ulceration, it has no ingredients known to be carcinogenic, where ALL drinks containing artificial sweeteners have at least one ingredient that the FDA or other body has forced research to be halted on when the studies began to indicate they may cause cancers.
In high intake all artificial sweeteners are laxatives.
And rather than prevention of diabetes, high consumption of artificial sweeteners actually contributes to triggering it because they taste sweeter than sugar, so consumers actually then use more sugar in other products to get the sweetness "fix" they crave.
Back in the 80's they had this that the Pepsi Challenge. I choice Coke every time. I did try the New Coke or Coke 2 they called it. It tasted like Pepsi and I went to 7up
as a boy i failed that challenge. had it been filled with whiskey i'd probably notice the difference lol
@Sevenpointfive I bet you remember Tab soda to then to
i do, but i don't remember the taste. i might have had it only a couple of times. with the pepsi challenge though it was pretty embarrassing. i was with my mother and two sisters at the mall. they all got it right and the girl couldn't lie to a young boy to get a prize.
@Sevenpointfive you got a prize. I got shit but a sugar high. Tab taste like sweet and low soaked in water. It was bad tasting. Just like them nasty Monster Drinks. I can't believe some store still sell it.
those energy drinks give me panic attacks. i don't drink soda almost ever.
@Sevenpointfive same here. I drink tea and coffee. Unlike today soda was a treat and only giving on special days
Why in the world would there be any significant difference between those two products? How about the other soda alternatives?
Coke. I love both drinks but there's nothing better than snapping open that can of coke on a hot day
I chose coke since it dehydrates me less than Pepsi.
